Job Description

We are seeking a proofreader to support time-sensitive proofreading requests in a fast-paced, team environment. Candidates must demonstrate high attention to detail. Primary responsibilities include ensuring that creative elements in varied media have been built or revised to match task descriptions and requested revisions; and flawlessly catching all errors, including those related to typography, spelling, formatting, and consistency of style and content. Experience proofreading a wide variety of fast-turn jobs in a high-volume advertising, marketing and/or promotions agency environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Review documents for grammar/spelling/punctuation
Check handwritten revisions/electronic redline against a working draft to ensure all corrections were made accurately
Conduct separate checks for format and text accuracy
Suggest edits as needed
Follow established policies and procedures at all times
Occasional copywriting that follows specific instructions, such as adding revisions to a template for a final deliverable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English or related field or equivalent work experience
1-3 years work experience
Knowledge of AP Style
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including expert level knowledge of the English language, grammar, spelling and punctuation
Willing to work in a hybrid work setup (BGC) and in a mid-shift schedule (3pm-12mn)
